Replacing Existing Tops

Measure the depth from the rear of backsplash or from the wall (do not include tile) to the front of the existing countertop.

It is recommended that the front of the countertop should overhang the door or drawer fronts by 1/2" min. to 1" max.

Ordering for New Cabinets

Measure the depth from the wall behind the cabinets to the front of the cabinet doors or drawers (do not include knobs or pulls).

Add 1/2" min to 1" max to that measurement for countertop overhang.

It is recommended that the front of the countertop should overhang the door or drawer fronts by 1/2" min. to 1" max.

Step 1: Listing the Shapes you Need

Step 2: Printing your Customized Measuring Form

If you wish, you might like to use our measuring form:

1. on the measuring form, select the shapes you need
2. print the form showing your choices
3. proceed to step 3 and manually fill out the required dimensions

If you need to order more than 1 of a particular shape, i.e. two L-shapes, please fill out two different drawings as the sizes will vary. Please use the order form to place the order.

Step 3: Choosing your Corners and Ends

While standard square corners have a recommended minimum 3/4" (open end) or 1/4" overhang (at appliance), rounded or mitered corners may need additional overhang space. Go to Corners & ends to make your selections and calculate your overhangs.

	On a bar top, for instance, choosing a typical 3" sweep (rounded corner) means that you need to add 3" or more to your overall length.
	A #2 corner on an open end instead of a standard square corner will require a minimum 2" overhang.
	Length + needed or recommended overhang = overall length

Step 4: Measuring your Shapes

IMPORTANT: Please measure to nearest 1/8"

1. Measure LENGTH at rear of top or along wall from end to end or corner to corner.
2. Include the OVERHANGS of your existing tops in your overall measurements.
   If you're choosing a rounded corner, please refer to Step 3.
   
   



3. Measure DEPTH of existing countertops from back wall to front edge of countertop.
   For new cabinets: measure from back wall to front of doors or drawers + add 1"
4. When choosing a profile with backsplash for your new tops, make sure the new height will not interfere with tiles, window sills, outlets, mirrors, wallpaper, switches, etc.
5. Check if you need build-up: if the top of the cabinet doors or drawers are level with or close to the top of the cabinet, you'll need build-up.
